Summary
Cap; Shako of an officer in the infantry made from black beaver with a black leather top, trim and peak. The peak is lined with green leather and the inside is lined with red silk and has a leather headband. It should have an 8 pointed star surmounted by a crown within the centre a garter encircling the number of the regiment on a black ground. The back is deeper than the front - 185 mm (7.25 in) - 134 mm (5.25 in). The top diameter is 152 mm (6 in) - 26 mm (1 in) less than the bottom giving a tilted effect. The rear dropping peak is 26 mm (1 in) deep the front 56 mm (2.25 in). There is a leather chin strap. (uniform)
