Summary
Cap; Shako from the Oxfordshire Hussars made from guardsman red napped wool on a cardboard base. it is bell topped with a 40 mm (1.625 in) wide silver lace around the top. There is a black leather peak 50 mm (2 in) deep at centre and edged with silver wire. There are side ornaments - a rose and chin scales on a leather backing - possibly pewter. Insignia on front in gilt and silver with a Maltese type cross with a circle in the centre with a monogram surmounted with queen's crown. (uniform)
