Summary

One of four uniform rosettes - Part of the uniform of the King's Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard. The doublet is made from Union Jack red napped wool lined with cream cotton twill body and lapis lazuli cotton twill skirts. It is cut as a Tudor doublet, the back and front cut whole. There are full sleeves into wristband with one hole and small button. Four skirts are pleated into the waist. Three small buttons and holes on left shoulder. 5 small buttons and holes on left side of seam. Blue velvet and gold lace shoulder strap on left should with one large button. Decorated with narrow strips of midnight blue velvet with a narrow strip of gold lace either side on cuffs, sleeves, skirts, body and collar. It is decorated front and back with rose, thistle and shamrock with a scroll 'Dieu et mon Droit' surmounted with crown and letters 'G' 'R' on other side. 10 gilt buttons domed with royal crown, 9 small, 1 large - 8 with backmarks 'Firmin and Sons Ltd, London' 1 small with wreath of leaves and crown, large - no backmarks. Label in ink '54 Casswell' and 'Casswell' stamped on back. Also waist belt (gold lace, blue velvet on leather backing on waist belt and victrix blue cotton on shoulder belt), shoulder belt, ruff (4 row muslin goffered into neckband with a drawstring), hat (Oxford blue velvet, white and blue ribbons), stockings (cherry red knitted wool), 4 rosettes (cherry red, midnight blue, white silk satin) (uniform)
