Summary
Hat plume - A plume of white swan feathers drooping outwards with red feathers under them on a gilt holder. They are described in the Dress Regulations for 1900 for Field Marshall down to a Colonel. There is a black lacquered tin - SNO 2198.2. Charles Wade states that they belong to a small cocked hat - there is one similar to his sketch (SNO 1225) but it does not appear to fit the cockade.
