Summary
One of two parts of a machined, part handstitched jacket made of cotton; a cream background with printed designs of squares in red. There are small insets of the same fabric with yellow background. It is fully lined with white cotton which was attached before the garment was made up. Cut 1 is hip length with a front fastening and a placket on either side of opening, it has a large rectangular collar with self-frill and ties. There is a triangular inset of different colour (but same pattern) fabric on shoulder. Cut 2 is also part hand, part machine stitched it has a very large scooped neckline and self-frill around neck. It is gathered under the bust and fastens front edge to edge with a tape drawstring under the bust. It is waist length with long sleeves that have no underarm, it is fitted at the back with 2 pairs of diagonal seams which flare at bottom, there is a centre back seam. cut 1 is very similar in cut to jacket SNO 1984.
