Summary
Doll's drawers - Part of clothes for a jointed doll with a composite body and porcelain head (Simon and Halbig, Germany, 1339 on back of head) Also I L and S and 6 1/2 -meaning unknown. Hair missing. She is clothed in white knee length cotton drawers with a draw string waist and a frill of machine Valenciennes lace- all hand sewn. The petticoat is of white cotton, the bodice and skirt is cut in one with a round neck and back opening. The hem has a tuck and a flounce with two tucks. A strip of machine embroidered white work is applied to the top of the flounce. The neck, armhole and hem are trimmed with machine made Valenciennes lace. The dress is made from cream Jap silk and the bodice is lined with white cotton. It has a round neck and back opening, elbow length sleeves and the skirt is gathered back into the yoke and there is a flounce of the same fabric. It is hand stitched.
