Summary
Child's cap - A cap made from fine white linen with a cotton crown. the crown has a design of satin, stem and eyelet stitches with needlepoint filling (Ayrshire?). The brim and side piece is constructed of bands of linen gathered into insertions of machine made Valenciennes lace in horizontal rows. There is a triple frill of matching lace around the brim edge and one around the neck. There is a cotton drawstring and cream silk ribbon. Similar to SNO 1840. (child)
