Summary
The yoke of a smock made from unbleached coarse homespun linen. There are seven rows of drawn thread work down each sleeve with a piece of coarse openwork inserted down the sleeve joining the bodice to the sleeve. There are 3 rows of drawn thread work on the bodice back and front. The neck line, cuffs and waist opening are edged with coarse lace. Possibly Scandinavian. Wade Catalogue number C.16 "Smock yoke with sleeves. Elaborate work. Fine peace. Curving full sleeves." Brought for £3.5.0 from Boutell (?)
