Summary
Waistcoat - Made from red wool and lined with a cotton tabby with claret stripes outlined with flowers and green leaves and touches of blue and yellow with narrower stripes of cream with claret roses and other flowers with green leaves. It is edged with plaited gold braid with plaited gold on the seam lines and gold braid down the fronts inside outer braid. it is covered overall with silk cored silver thread with a central design of a daisy like flower close couched. It fastens with a fly front of red felt edged with gold plaited braid and gold thread with 9 buttons on each side - they are made from a wooden mould covered with gold thread with a coral bead on the tip of each one. Possibly for a Christian woman or boy and possibly from the province Joannina, Albania. (female)
