Mourning pelerine - Made from heavy black ribbed silk and lined with black silk taffeta. It has a deep boned front, piped neck and it is edged with rows of pleated black silk crepe with a crepe border. It has a back opening with 4 painted steel hooks and worked loops. (female) (mourning costume)
