Summary
Hat - Made from fawn wool and lined with cream silk with a leather headband and a label with a Coat of Arms 'W Clarkson, Perruquier and Costumier to His Most Gracious Majesty and the Royal Family, 41 and 43 Wardour Street, London, WC'. There is a gummed piece of paper written in ink in possibly Charles Wade's handwriting 'Theatrical'. The hat is trimmed with silk ribbon with a bow and silver coloured buckle at the front. A 1790's copy. (male) Charles Wade can be seen wearing this hat in the photograph (1336759). This photograph was taken as part of a series of portraits where Wade replicates famous images of actors inlcuding Mr John Martin-Harvey depicted as Sydney Caterton in The Only Way.
