Summary
Livery tricorne hat - Made from black silk plush and lined with silk. Padded label 'Thomas Townend, London, 16 and 18 Lime Street and 110 Oxford Street'. Tricorne with brims bound with silver lace. A silver lace loop on one brim with crested button at the base of the loop. (Same crest as SNO.TC.1228). The silver lace ends in a silver fringe on two points. There are silver ribbons from inside the hat to the centre of the crown and a silver thread domed button in the centre of the crown. See SNO.TC.1228/1254. (male)
