Summary
Hat; Uniform hat - Made from black wool with a cotton lining with 2 large hooks inside for and aft. It is cocked with a straight back flap anf curved front. The brim is bound with silver lace and there is a silver lace loop over red/white/blue rosette. There is a button at the base of the loop with an eagle and 'Gendarmerie Imperiale' and 'Surete Publique' at the base of the eagle. It is in a green japanned box. (male) (uniform)
