Summary
Uniform hat - Made from black beaver. The lining is missing. It is cocked with back and front flap curved. The brims are bound by black silk braid and there is a black ribbed silk cockade. There are two pieces of black silk braid on either side of the front flap going diagonally across with a design of oak leaves and acorns (General Service Pattern) and a square hole for a plume holder. The height of the flaps corresponds to 1900 Dress Regulations. (male) (uniform)
