Summary
Uniform hat - Made from black felted wool with a black silersia? lining and a leather headband. It is cocked with back and front flaps curved. The brims are edged with 5cm wide silver lace. There is a silver loop over black braid cockade on one flap. There is a black and grey horsehair plume. Regiment not traced in 1900 Dress Regulations - a note in the 1846 Dress Regulations states 'the embroidery, lace, etc of the Militia, Yeomanry, Aides de Camp to silver instead of gold'. Black and white horsehair plume - 7th Dragoon Guards, 10th Hussars; lace; 12th Lancers according to the 1900 Dress Regulations. (male) (uniform)
