Summary
Bonnet - Ivory silk with brim faced with matching silk. Shaped on stiffened linen muslin. Edges reinforced with wire and bands of plaited straw. Edges bound ivory satin. Trimmed with 2 large wings of silk with wired edges on crown side. Large bows of wide Cambridge blue silk gauze ribbon. Loops held in shape with narrow blue wired ribbon. Same ribbon trimming inside brim. Trimming pinned in place. Fastening of same ribbon half width as ties. Cf. Nancy Bradfield 'Costume in Detail' Pg.140 (female)
