Summary
Mourning bonnet - Made from violet satin and cream silk plush. It is lined with starched cream silk and is part quilted in squares. It is made from a wire frame overlaid with stiffened cotton net. It is edged with frills of violet satin. There is a bow at the centre of the satin edged with plush. The band is criss-crossed with violet satin and there is a frill of tulle at the temples. It fastens with cream satin ribbon ties and has hanging ties of violet satin pinned together with a satin ribbon bow. See SNO.TC.1127. (female)
