Summary
Bonnet - Made from a 7 end straw plait 0.4 cm wide. It is handstitched through overlapped plait. The back of the brim is lined with stiffened muslin with cord drawstring. The brim is lined with pleated unbleached open muslin. The bavolet is stiffened with heavy cotton net. The bonnet is edged with thread wrapped wire. The bonnet is trimmed with cream ribbon swathed over the top. The bavolet is of the same ribbon with an edging of silk cord. There is a silk tulle frimm inside the brim. (female)
