Summary
Bonnet - Made from 7 end plaited straw 0.4 cm wide and handstitched by overlapping the plait. It is line with red silk. There is a double row of wire at the edge of the brim. There is another layer of different plaited straw between the outer layer and card on the brim. It is trimmed with silk ribbon with coloured ribbed stripes making a band with a large bow over the top of the crown and brim. It is also pleated and ruched around the lower edged pinned in position. There is a fawn silk ribbon making a semi circle for a tie. (female)
