Summary
Mourning bonnet - Made from black cire with a self lined brim. The crown is part lined with black silk. It is constructed over a crown shape of sized muslin with heavier stiffening to the brim which is also edged with wire. It is trimmed with a small self bow at the back of the crown. It is edged and swathed black crepe. It fastens with wide black satin ribbon ties attached to the outside of the bonnet where the crown meets the brim. (female)
