Summary
Coat; Coatee/uniform made from red and blue napped wool. It is lined with red cotton tabby foreparts and back with black twilled silk lining to the collar and cream twill wool to the tails. There is a 50 mm strip of red leather at waist level. It is decorated with cream wool piping down the fronts and around the cuffs and pocket flaps. Also cream wool edging around the tails. Buttons missing. Insignia missing - evidence of stitching for 8 ponted star, braid on cuffs, pocket flaps and collar. Probably Coldstream guards officer's coatee as described in 1846 Dress Regulations. (male)
