Summary
Dressing gown; Banyan - A banyan made from blue and cream silk brocade on sky grey background in a design of flowers and undulating ribbons. It is lined with cream silk. There are small blue shot silk patches and as part of the sleeves. There are 14 cloth buttons and 4 turquoise cloth buttons at the cuff. The fabric is earlier than the garment - possibly 1760s. There is a small dart on the left side and not on the right and there is a piece of fabric in the pocket that was a collar. (male)
