Summary
Belt; Girdle - A girdle/belt/patka from India made from cream cotton and maize silk woven in a plaid design with two selvedge edges and two edges with self fringing. It is decorated with two blocks of embroidery at either end of stylised flowers contained in a border. There are narrow borders along the length and width. There is a ground pattern of stars embroidered between the two blocks. It is embroidered in maize silk with a tambour (ari) hook. There are some flowers outlined in cream cotton in back stitch.
