Summary
Waistcoat from Bosnia/Herzegovina/Montenegro made from ruby velvet with a cream (glazed) cotton back and lined with cream glazed cotton. It is trimmed with narrow gold braid centre front (2 widths) and along the hem. The couched gold braid is sewn in loops down the front and along the hem. On each side of the front is a large thistle, a leaf and a smaller flower couched in gold braid and edged with moss green Russian braid. The gold braid at the centre of the thistle is couched onto green velvet. It fastens with cooured metallic dome shaped buttons with engraved lines and small raised circles. Bourgeois or fancy dress.
