Summary
Kaftan made in Turkey made from a silk and cotton mix with a blue background with satin weave stripes of cinnamon, brown and yellow. It is lined with black silk satin. It is trimmed with brown narrow wool braid around the cuffs and down the front opening, round the breast and side pockets. It fastens with buttons and loops.(male) Wade catalogue number 52. "Persian gown, silk. Black, blue and gold stripes, lined with linen, the lining of sleeves at wrist of a curious printed design. C.1790" Bought from Mrs. Solomon for £1.0.0
