Summary
Wrapper; Abayah - An abayah (wrapper) from the Middle East made from weft faced fabric with areas of pattern woven en disposition. It has a cotton warp and wool weft. It is handspun and woven with finely detailed geometric pattern down the top front and at the back. It has a red ground with a yelow, blue, green and white geometric pattern in the weave. The seams are covered with blue cord outlined with a finer white cord. The white cord is shaped into 5 trefoil loops at the sleeve shoulder. There is a flower (tulip) motif on the sleeve back. (male)
