Summary
Wrapper; Abayah - An abayah (wrapper) from the Midddle East, made from two pieces of handwoven weft faced tabby weave made from animal fibre and possibly cotton. It is brown/black with multicoloured embroidery. There is needle woven braid edging at the back of the neck and down the front and a small area of decoration at the back in gold, maroon, and blue. The seam at the shoulder and around the armholes and down the centre front is over stitched in red and gold heavy chain stitch. This is a man's garment.
