Summary
Livery coat - Part of a an esquire's coat and sash, made from red napped wool with blue silk facings to the leading edges and insides of the cuffs with red twilled woollen pocket linings and cream cotton lining to the sleeves. It is trimmed with gold braid around all edges and alone seam line of the collar with a row of twisted thread couched inside the braid all around the edges. It has cone shaped ornamental buttons covered with gold wire. Worn at the coronation of George IV by John Davidson FRS. The sash (worn about the waist) is of azure silk with a gold fringe at either end. (male)
