Sampler - Open linen canvas. Worked in red cotton thread. Three alphabets. Two sets of numerals in cross and eye stitches. Legend - 'Jesus permit thy gracious name to stand, As the first effort of an infant's hand; And while her fingers on the canvas move, Engage her tender thoughts to seek thy love. Revecca Ducker. Agend 8 years December 13th MDCCCXXXI. 12.5 inch (317mm) square.
