Summary
One of a pair of slippers - Made from black silk with brown leather soles. They are lined with white kid quarters and insole with a white linen vamp and heel stiffener. They are a turnshoe construction. They are decorated with a tiny black silk bow at the vamp throat with black cotton ribbon trim at the top seams. There are ring stamps on the sole at the toe, waist and heel. They are marked in both shoes 'Mrs Cowslade' also marked right and left. In the right shoe 'Wilson, Ladies and Gentlemen's Fashionable Boot and Shoe Maker, 19 Broad Street, Reading.' (female)
