Summary
Persian lacquered wood pen case, convex lid and rounded ends. Light green background overall. Frieze around the edge showing pairs of flowers, finely painted. The top showing five birds amongst blue and pink flowers. The underneath painted with gold background with red flowers set in a diagonal pattern. The inside having brass ink holder with pierced trellis design to one end with mother-of-pearl inset to the ink lid - removeable. Inside of box painted with yellow, red, and black flowers. Sliding cover, painted inside.
