Summary
Lotus leaf style fan made of buffalo hide, stylised, pierced and painted decoration in red, white and gold. Two headed bird emblem to the centre. Carved bone handle with curved extensions to support fan. In notebook no.4, page 50 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 193. Four Fans of pierced and painted buffalo parchment with horn handles. KIPAS = fan.'
