Summary
Model of caravan 'Jarley's World Famed Waxworks' from 'The Village Fair' set of models amde by Charles Paget Wade for the Model Village (Wolf's Cove). White painted body, green side panels, chassis and shafts, and as edging, white roof with chimney. Green painted spoke wheels, two black carriage lamps, white ladder along one side (missing) and two small windows to the front, each side of the door, and lamp and barrel (missing) by the door. Miniature pulley projected over front. Drop-down tailgate on chains with a cuboid box on. Drawn by a brown, wooden horse on a wooden base, with moulded halter and trappings and chains to attach to caravan . In notebook no.5, page 31 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seventh Heaven no.13 A Village Fair 11 Models made by C P Wade. A Booth. Tarlay’s Waxworks. A Stall. Swing Boats. ‘Try your Strength’ Pole. Punch & Judy. Coconut Shy & Five Caravans. a Theatre with 3 Indian figures. The Caravans are fitted up inside with Bunks, Seats, Stove, Dresser etc. Shafts, Lamp & steps.' Includes sketches
