Summary
Model; Horse drawn caravan from the 'Village Fair' (Wolf's Cove) with blue painted body, white roof with chimney and a square section pole extending forwards, and red spoked wheels and shafts. Material drape to the back, and the benches inside. Transparent window with white painted frames to each side. 'Codlin & Short' painted on sides. Small black and white pail and red lamp beside repaired front door. Carriage lamp on one side, missing from other (peg remains). Drop-down tailboard held by chains from a metal rod across the back. Front wheels and shaft assembly turns. In notebook no.5, page 31 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seventh Heaven no.13 A Village Fair 11 Models made by C P Wade. A Booth. Tarlay’s Waxworks. A Stall. Swing Boats. ‘Try your Strength’ Pole. Punch & Judy. Coconut Shy & Five Caravans. a Theatre with 3 Indian figures. The Caravans are fitted up inside with Bunks, Seats, Stove, Dresser etc. Shafts, Lamp & steps.' Includes sketches
