Summary
Bat/racquet - Pair of battledore racquets covered with brown leather with gilt tooled decoration. Belonged to Mary Blanche Bulwer (Charles Paget Wade's Great Grandmother), circa 1817. Marked '3' on one side of throat. In notebook no.5, page 55 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seventh Heaven no.182 Pair of old Battledores covered with red leather with gilt tooled decoration M.B. Bulwer c,1817'. Includes sketch with dimensions.

CPW item 182, belonged to Mary Blanche Bulwer Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
