Summary
Le Praxinoscope by Brevet, Paris (1879) in tin painted black on a removable turned wooden base, with seven paper viewing cards, one of which (a trapeze artist 1338987.8)) is in the viewer. In the centre of the tin is an octagon, each side mirrored. Label on top reads ’Le Praxinoscope Fixer les Extremites du dessin/, Contre la barette qui fait saille a l'interieur ER BREVETE S.G.D.G. en France et a l'etranger. Marque deposee. Medaille d'Argent Exp.on. 1879 Paris'. In notebook no.5, page 56 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seventh Heaven no.202 LA PRAXMOSCOPE M C W 1890'. Includes sketch.
