Summary
Model - Wooden toy tumbril - a two-wheeled cart - varnished brown with red wheels. Ridged top of sides, missing from one side.. Nail projecting from outside of edge of each shaft. (A tumbril is an open cart that tips to empty its load. This type of cart was used to convey condemned persons to their excecution, especially to the guillotine during the French Revolution. Also used to carry tools and ammunition, and would have been covered. This type of cart was also used for carrying dung.) In notebook no.5, page 33 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seventh Heaven no.29 Toy Tumbril, varnished red & brown wheels'
