Summary
Model fire engine with brass pistons and water tank. Painted red. 'Metropolitan Fire Brigade' inscribed in gold letters. Lever operated brakes. Within a glazed mahogany case. In notebook no.5, page 86-87 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Large Garret no.31 Model of Fire Engine Metropolitan Fire Brigade, a well made working steam model. 4¾" diameter brass boiler. 2¼ x 1¼ cylinder. Six chambers, pump, two safety valves, water gauge, steam cocks, regulator, etc. c 1890' Includes sketch with dimensions.
