Mahogany mile wheel (waywiser) with brass pipe forks and square brass dial measuring yards, poles, furlongs and miles. In notebook no.5, page 108 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Large Garret no.92 Mile wheel of unusual build the frame being made of brass. Mahogany wheel.' Includes sketches with dimension of 31".'
