Red painted hay rack at front. Red shafts with iron slider bars. Single width wheels with iron tyres. Contained sacks (Ten sacks are now in Occidens with the freight trains). Waiting of Boxwood, painted by C.P.W. scale 1½" = 1ft all constructed as the actual wagon, with Real tenons & every bolt & detail is carefully shown. Full details & specification of each is in the Snowshill Chest in the Gallery Room. no.19 Oxfordshire Yellow'. 'The skill of the Country Wheelwright is well shown in the set of model wains, made for me so perfectly by Mr. H. R. WAITING. This collection of models will be a valuable record in days to come, as the Wheelwrights craft is now a dead art. Each of these models was built from careful measurements taken from an actual old wain, every bolt and detail is accurately shown to 1 ½” scale'. (Charles Wade, Haphazard Notes Volume 2, page 96-97)
