Summary
Open carriage pram with single seats facing; cushions on seats (one re-covered). Back and sides having turned spindles. Single pulling shaft. Red, tan, and black livery. Wooden wheels, iron tyres. Elaborately painted with black and red lines on chassis and wheels. Body mounted on wooden spring frame. Pictured in glass plate photograph 1329760. In notebook no.5, page 94 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Large Garret no.39 A chaise for two children. c. 1819. Set on wood springs. Seats open as boxes + have loose buff linen cushions. Painted yellow + black, red lines. Fr Dennington, Suffolk.' Includes sketch with date 1819.
