Summary
Traditional wooden farm cart with flat bottom and lipped sides. Blue and red livery. J.T. Stares, Chidden Farm 1828 painted on back. In notebook no.5, page 87 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Large Garret no.32 Children's play cart. Hampshire wagon. Built by wheelwright. Curved floor. Perch. Cast wheels. Painted blue and red. The front board is lettered in yellow. J. T. STARES. CHIDDEN FARM. 1828'. Sketch with dimensions. In Gloucester Records Office (1340960), ref. D10423/Box 4/65, there is receipt dated October 21st 1927 from H.H. Lanman & Son for a child's cart bought on September 30 1927 for £2 10s.
