Summary
Sailor's hat of tanned felt, with wide brim and low crown. Painted black. Lined with hessian and stencilled 'WZ' inside crown. 'W Voles' printed on inside band. Brim torn. In notebook no.2, page 3 (1340945.2) Charles Wade refers to: 'Admiral 3. Seaman's Hat of hard black leather'. A small pencil note has been added that reads 'Capt Guttle'. Includes sketch.
