Ensign flag, wool. Red, white and blue Union Jack flag in top corner and red cross of St George on white ground across the centre. Wooden toggle to top for raising. In notebook no.2, page 7 (1340945.2) Charles Wade refers to: 'Admiral 30. A White Ensign picked up in the North Sea during the Great War, 5'5" long, by a Mine Sweeper'.
Provenance
CPW Item 30, it was picked up in the North Sea during the Great War by a Mine Sweeper. Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
