Summary
Embroidered collage of an angel and child. Painted canvas and beadwork on a dark red velvet background. Both figures with detailed painted faces, wearing beige tunics with vine designs. Angel with curved, partially folded wings and blue sandals. Both standing on small green patch of grass. Detailed, carved wooden frame, formerly gesso, repainted. In notebook no.5, page 64 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Mermaid no. 33 Carved & Gilt Italian frame panel of angel & child, silk & tinsel. The faces are painted. 17" x 20½"'
