Summary
Rectangular woollen Shirvan prayer rug. Central rectangular panel has beige ground with a trellis and flower pattern in red, blue and green. Panel also contains a small building (temple) surrounded by other religious symbols in red, pink, blue and beige. Four further borders surround panel. All with geometric floral patterns in blue, green, red and yellow. Previously associated with inventory number SNO.T.4300. 'Dhaghestan prayer rug, circa mid 19th Century'. (Sara Bamford, April 1997)
