Summary
Oval iron spring balance with crescent shaped brass scale, one large ring and one smaller ring, two weighing hooks below. Turned and twisted shaft of the measuring needle, which is forked to read both sides of the scale. One side marked 0-45, the other 20-300. The frame is stamped '33' and with a (Masonic) square and compasses. In notebook no.7, page 14 (1340945.7) Charles Wade refers to: 'Kitchen no.264. 3 Spring Scales'. Includes sketch.
