Summary
Terrestial globe on a wooden stand of three outer turned legs, connected by a central one with turned stretchers. Dark stain and heavy varnish. In cartouche on globe: 'Newton's new and improved terrestrial globe- Navigators and Travellers, 66 Chancery Lane'. Months and constellations printed around top of equator ring. Brass meridian ring, engraved with degrees. In notebook no.5, page 66 (1340945.5) Charles Wade refers to: 'Mermaid 39. Newton's New & Improved Terrestrial Globe on mahogany table stand 1' 8" dia.'
