Circular brass protractor, four spokes, with rotating arm. Ring marked 0-360 on outer edge, and 0-90 per quadrant on the inner edge. Inscribed 'J. SIMONS LONDON'. English early 19th century. In notebook no.2, page 14 (1340945.2) Charles Wade refers to: 'Admiral 40. Brass Protractor. J SIMONS LONDON'. Includes sketch with dimensions.
