Summary
Pocket terrestrial Globe. Spherical black shagreen covered pasteboard hinged case, containing fitted terrestrial globe. Pin through poles of globe onto rim of case permits globe to spin. Twelve lunar phases illustrated inside of one half of the case, and four seasons and zodiac in the other half. Labelled 'Newton's New Terrestrial Globe, 1818' English 1818, or a little later. In notebook no.2, page 7 (1340945.2) Charles Wade refers to: 'Admiral 120 (I). Terrestrial Sphere in shagreen case (black) the interior of case showing the Heavens. NEWTONS. 1818, 2¼" Dia.'
